Truly Knackered

This week was my first week back at work and I gotta say, by Friday, I was bloody pooped. I don’t work 9-5, but what I do do, I actually work really hard at but normally, I’m great. But this week, it just so took it out of me, I couldn’t believe it. I went to bed last night and I just hit the pillow straight away! Maybe it was first week back feeling and maybe, I think, it was more hitting my head against a brick wall feeling (not literally I might add!).

Anyway, I am going to be enjoying my weekend off by doing everything I love to do, which mostly involves watching lots of telly lol! Revenge was back on Monday and if you remember how last year I ended up so behind, this year, it’s not a problem, because I’m actually watching it live, rather than recorded. I really enjoyed Monday’s opening episode, even if at some points I felt like I was missing out on something. I don’t know if everyone felt like that, it just seemed at times they were talking about stuff as if I should know it but I didn’t, unless it’s just my memory failing me, I don’t know. Then on Wednesday I watched the new series “The Tomorrow People”, which I enjoyed so much more than I thought I would. I don’t for obvious birth date reasons remember the 70’s series of the same name and don’t for some reason remember the 90’s revival of it either. Some people are saying that it’s in the possibility to be cancelled area, which I hope not, because if the rest of the episodes are just as good as the pilot, then I think it’s going to make a great series.

And this weekend it will be the last episode of Sherlock! I can’t believe it goes that quickly. I know a lot of people didn’t really enjoy episode two and I must admit I do miss the long case investigation type edge to it, but watching Sherlock get drunk – priceless! I also managed to finally watch The Brady Bunch Movie Sequel too, which I don’t even remember going anything like it did and I swear there were scenes in it that didn’t happen in the film I watched recorded from TV – unless they cut them for time reasons or something I don’t know. I could be thinking of an entirely different film!

The Annual Christmas Cold

I don’t think there is ever a December that goes by that I don’t get sick. Last year I had the mother of all colds, which meant I had to have a week off work, which is something I never do. I have the odd day, but never a whole week in a row, I think the most I’ve had off is two days. I am currently in the throws of another Christmas Cold but this one, touch wood, is not as bad and I can still go to work, even though it wasn’t great today working with a cold. But nevertheless, it would not be Christmas without one (though one year, I would like to see December clear and not delirious in cold!).

Christmas is fast coming round and while I thought I was pretty much prepared, I’m in fact not! You may notice the rather lovely pile of parcels in the twitter pic to the left and while I’d like to say they are all Christmas presents, only one is! The bloody problem with Christmas shopping is that you tend to browse and while you browse, you see so much bloody stuff you like, you end up spending more on yourself (at least I do!). I’m not too bad and think I have most of the stuff mentally bought just not physically. In theory, this means they are still in the shop and waiting for me, my name on them. I very much doubt that in reality!

I planned to watch some Christmas movies this weekend, but in fact, I watched 4 movies and non were Christmas related. As I was pretty much sofa bound on Saturday, I watched my cheer me up movie, which is Tangled! I could watch this movie so many times and never get sick of it! I just love the song “I See The Light”, it is one of my all time favourite Disney songs. Then after that, I watched my main man Thor – btw, I think The Dark World is so much better than the first, but if Thor is happening to be listening (he is currently sat opposite me in Lego form anyway), like children, I love them both equally. Then I also watched The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, which gave me everything I could have wanted from a British movie – perfect.

On to last night and as soon as I saw this was on, I knew I just had to watch it. We all have our guilty pleasure movies that while might not have got the best reviews or might not be “Oscar” worthy as it were, you just can’t help but love and watch. And one of my all time favourites that I have watched since I was a kid, is The Brady Bunch Movie. I love that fact that as an adult, while I still remember loads of it, there were some bits that I understand now and realise how rude in fact they are. I love films like that, that children can watch, but adults can totally get an in joke from. I have a copy of it on VHS (that’s a video btw), but I looked it up on DVD and bloody hell is is expensive, because your can’t really get hold of it and I’m not being funny, but who wouldn’t want it on DVD. I am going to go and look in a replay shop tomorrow. And can I just say, I never truly appreciate how much Greg Brady is actually very good looking!!! As a child, I obviously didn’t appreciate that!

Ready for Christmas!!!

I am literally ready for Christmas to be here right now! I have most of my gifts bought and wrapped (thank you, I know!), I have my tree up (it went up on December 1st naturally see here), I watched my first Christmas movie on Sunday (The Muppet Christmas Carol) and I am currently listening to Christmas music (Kelly Clarkson – Wrapped In Red). So if you are listening Santa, you know one of us is ready! In fact, I met Santa last week, so I can indeed for certain say that he is in fact 100% real and in now way was this some fake Santa guy! He’s FACT!

Nothing much to report otherwise. I went for a job interview last week, which I annoyingly didn’t get and could have done with, but it must mean something better is still to come (do not burst this bubble!). I am still watching I’m A Celebrity – quick thought on this actually. Is it just me or are the guys that are not wearing their shirts the ones that really should be? There is only so much man chest you can see over your supper! I have currently knit 17 mini stockings, so at least I have a goal, but apart from that, I am being regular old boring me, no interesting celebrity based crushes flip out of late!

Birthday Of The Day: MINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Moments you remember

For starters, apologies again for not blogging, but the last 2 weeks have been pretty intense to say the least. Been very very busy and am now very very tired, but feeling very very much refreshed after some good sleeps and relaxation.

Now, I’m no kind of religious news follower. I don’t really watch the new start to finish, usually just catching the headlines, maybe a bit of BBC Breakfast in the morning and whatever they tell you on the radio and the headlines off the BBC homepage. But some days, you just wake up to a piece of news, that just hits you and you remember it for a long time to come still.

I can still remember the morning when I woke up and heard that Princess Diana had died and I remember sitting in my front room watching it play out and I was only in Primary School at the time. I remember coming home from High School to the news of September 11th and just being in utter dis belief. I remember being sat in a staff room of a Primary School where I was volunteering, photocopying god knows what, and a Tv having been wheeled in, showing the 7th July London bombing, as the events played out. And strangely enough, I remember being in a Curry’s, Comet, Dixons, one of those kind of shops, when the news came that they had found Sadem Hussein alive in that bunker thing, as it played out on all the screens of the TV’s they were selling.

It’s strange the things that you recall and the ways in which you remember them and mostly because they are so incredibly shocking and the worst part, being so incredibly out of the blue and just something you could never expect to happen or see on the news. It’s not often that they stop a show in the UK for news, more they add a news flash in at the end of a program, but I can recall a few times programs being interrupted for such things, though what they were for, I don’t remember. And I’m not really just talking about the news on the TV too, but things that effect you personally, personal news too. And all you can think about at first is that it’s some elaborate hoax, because you in that much disbelief that it’s happen, you trick you brain into thinking that it really isn’t true.

You can probably gather what I’m talking about today and it’s not like I care more about the death of a celebrity, than I do of important people and people I genuinely know, because with people you know, it really does hit you like a ton of bricks, because you spend you time with them and you physically know them. But that fact of the matter is that it was so incredibly shocking and that’s what I’m more focused on. I can still recall when I woke up to the news that Heath Ledger had died, and at the time, as well as thinking about his family who must have been devastated, I just kept thinking also what a waste of such an incredible talent. You see movies and shows today, and I just think imagined if he had been in it or imagine if he was still alive now and acting. It would have been incredible to see him win an Oscar and collect it in person, because he really was a brilliant actor, I never saw a bad film he was in.

I’ll just finish this post here. Go ahead today and listen to “Live Like There’s No Tomorrow” by Selena Gomez, the lyrics are very fitting.

xoxo

Revelation, Movies and Rudeness (all in one post!)

I could really bore you to death in a few separate posts, but I thought it would be nicer of me to bore you to death all in one long slog – I’m just that nice.

The other day I changed the wallpaper on my phone. I like to us movie posters as the background on my phone, and for a while I had the Star Trek Into Darkness poster as my wallpaper. And for months, I was under the illusion that the guy in the poster was Kirk, but it is actually in fact Benedict Cumberbatch’s character. I’ll find a link to the poster, but to be honest, it is wee, so it’s hard to tell who it is. Poster. Ok, so it’s not that small on a laptop screen, but on a phone screen it is and my eyesight is terrible. So the other day I changed it to the new Thor Poster. Do not get me started on the US date on the post, cause I got all excited that it might be out around my birthday, until I realised the 11 was the month, not 8. Anywhoo, as I added the wallpaper to my phone, it dawned on me. I have an over excited thing for Thor, especially his lovely lovely golden hair, which I have mentioned several times, in some rather creepy as I type this sounding posts. But as I added this wallpaper, I realised to myself that I din’t have a thing for Chris Hemsworth, lovely as he is, I have a thing for Thor! And ain’t that just said, so here it is – I want to marry Thor! The actual God of Thunder and not the actor that plays him. I am insane!

Anyway, movies. Yesterday I watched one and a bit of a movie, because I got slightly bored of the second one and was trying to do something else while I was watching it, so I wasn’t really concentrating that much. The first one I watched, which I loved and again, didn’t expect to, was Blue Valentine. The second one was Inside Man, which I gotta be honest, I watched about 30 minutes of it and I didn’t really like what I saw, but I’m hoping that it was due to my lack of concentration, rather than the movie. I think it will be a grower, cause I’ve watched films where the beginning is really rubbish, but then the end is like woah! Or maybe I’m becoming a film snob, cause to be honest, you use to be able to stick anything on and I’d probably watch it. Actually, that’s still true!

Onto the rudeness part of the title. I have the unfortunate annoyance of being in a detached house, so I have neighbours very very close to me on each side. And this week, the ones that I mostly complain about on here, decided that it was ok to flick all their fag butts into our back yard. I don’t care whether you know people or not, but when was it OK to do that? I fortunately do not have the disgusting habit that is smoking, but seriously, where did common decency go in the youth of today. That makes me sound really old, considering I’m basically about 5 years older than them and not long ago, I was the youth of today. But luckily, I have the sense of decency not to do things like this. Anyway, rant over, it ain’t your problem.

As for today’s movie(s). I really want to watch the 3rd Transformers movie, because as I mentioned earlier this week, my brain is trying to make room and I do not remember much of that film, apart from the spiral crushing robot thing and Patrick Dempsey being in it lol. But, as well as the many movies that I mentioned on my box, fricking Tinker Tailor Solider Spy has been staring at me from my DVD shelf for a long time now, so I might have to actually watch it. I really want to watch it, so not wanting to sin’t the problem, I just get easily distracted by other movies. I have several books with bookmarks in at the moment, so that should really say everything.

Anyway, good day to you all, enjoy it!

Food Of The Day: Asda’s ice lollies with the popping candy in!
Nails¬†Of The Day: Non, but I think I’m actually going to do some nail art today, cause I’m getting lazy!

Teeth and Dreams

I know that the title of this post seem totally stupid, but I believe the two are related. I was gonna do this deep and meaningful (yeah right!) post today about friends (actual, not the tv show!) but I’m not feeling too great today and this is where the title comes in.

I hate my teeth, this is a fact! They have cause me nothing but problems, ever since I had to have a brace fitted, because 6 of my adult teeth are missing. Where they are, are do not know, if you have them, I hate you! ¬†The brace went fine, but then I had to move dentist, because mine was an NHS one and it shut down. So I moved to a new dentist and let’s just say, I think they butchered my teeth. I was move through 3 dentist there, was told I needed fillings, and I swear to God, they kept changing there mind about where the fillings needed to be and how many! It was basically¬†ridiculous¬†and because this wasn’t an NHS dentist, because they are like gold dust, so I had to pay for the¬†privilege (¬£75 if I remember correctly!). Anyway, after all that, I still have rubbish teeth and they are basically letting a baby tooth rot into my gum, because they won’t take it out and are more concerned about what I’m going to do when it eventually does full out (my pov is you can’t even see that part of my mouth when I smile or talk, so it’s just gonna be a gap!).

Anywhoo, this¬†leads¬†me to last night. ¬†I had a bad had last night when I went to bed and I think this lead to me having a strange dream. This dream was basically like Broadchurch on Steroids! It was a violent Broadchurch. But while this was going on, my head, at the back of my neck, felt really heavy. But just after talking to my Dad, this might be because I went to the hairdressers yesterday and was leaning back in one of those sinks, which isn’t how I usually wash my hair and I remember at the time, it didn’t feel to comfortable. But my jaw and teeth are so aching this morning. I don’t know if it’s maybe wisdom teeth or what, but basically, my teeth suck and I blame to dentist.

Obviously, they are not solely to blame, but I don’t drink teeth, coffee or¬†alcohol. I don’t smoke. I rarely drink fizzy drinks. Don’t eat too many sweets or chocolate. I am like your average person with biscuits and cakes. I do admit to having a slight addiction to apples and pure fruit juices, which I know are not the best for teeth. And I can’t control my own genetics, which I would say are also to blame too. My top teeth are lovely though and thankfully, my bottom teeth are quite deep set, so you can’t even see them when I smile, which is great. It’s funny for someone to have a body issue with their teeth, but there you go, I’m abnormally not average.

TV Show of The Day: I have rekindled my love of Grey’s and you are the first too know, I have just completed season 3 and now believe I might have to watch Private Practice too!

Worry Wart

Do you worry? I have this big massive problem that I worry about everything. I worry about things that I can’t control, I worry about things that I do, even though they¬†aren’t¬†anything to worry about and I just worry in general, which isn’t helped by the fact that I am very very laid back and tend not to stress about things. They kind of contradict each other, but the worry is in my head half the time, and it stays there.

I worry about stupid things. Like if I say something to someone, and then for ages after, I wonder if I should have, even though it’s nothing to worry about. I worried for ages about my little car incident the other day. And this is the worst part, I worry about things that have¬†absolutely¬†nothing to do with me. Say if someone else is having a hard time with something, I’ll bloody worry about that for them. Even though I’m not involved! I think worry is not the right sort of word to use, it’s more¬†fixating¬†on it and not stopping to think about it.

It’s not that big of an issue and most of the time, it’s only when I have nothing else to do this happens, but it’s just strange, because I NEVER use to worry about anything at all, maybe it’s old age (lol!). Once I get to work tomorrow, I’ll probably think nothing of it at all. I just find it that little bit strange and annoying.

Anyway, yesterday I had a really good afternoon of catching up on stuff. And please, do not get me started on the insane back-up of Revenge episodes that I have to watch (I think as of this Monday, it will be 9). I just can’t seem to get into it. I think I just need a day to watch them in, maybe May Day. I caught up first with my US comedy, watching 2 Broke Girls and The New Normal. I really like them both, but if they did get cancelled, I wouldn’t worry (haha!) either. I know from Spoiler TV that things arn’t looking good for The New Normal, and I am struggling to see how it will continue after this season, but it’s still good. Then I caught up on my UK drama, watching The Village (good, if a little depressing at times!) and The Ice Cream Girls. I know the last one is based on a book so I might have to read it.

Which leads me very nicely in to what is being dubbed “Coincidence¬†of the Day”. I¬†absolutely¬†fricking love coincidences! Am I the only one that finds them fascinating! It’s just like the worlds ways of telling us there’s more to it, you know. I had a bit of time, so I thought I’d watch a film and saved on the box, I had The Disappearance of Alice Creed. I was in to minds to watch it because it’s an 18, which ¬†tend to stay away from, because being a child in my head, I am literally scared of my own shadow. But also, I kind of thought it might be a bit icky in the, well, let’s just say icky in the 18 sense of the way. But, actually, I really enjoyed it, because there was a great story to it. I think personally, I could get away with being a 15, because there isn’t any sort of high bloody violence in it, I think it’s an 18 more for the swearing and the nudity (which is brief). And to be far to most 15 year¬†olds¬† they probably swear more than what the people in the film do, but anyway, I am digressing (verbal¬†diarrhea). Anywhoo, there are some really great twists in the story (sorry *spoiler alert*) that I didn’t expect at all and that’s what kept the story interest. And here is where the coincidence comes into play. One of the guys in the movie was in The Ice Cream Girls. And I could have literally watched any film (I have about 8 pages worth of movies to get through – you get it, I like movies!) and I choose that one. It was fate – well, maybe just a tad. But it made me happy.

Quite a lot of randomness in this blog, so I think we shall end it there.

xoxo

TV Show Of The Day: Should be Nashville, but due to my inability to remember to set it to record, I have a rather lovely date with a man named 4OD this afternoon!
Nail Varnish Of The Day: None but I have a lovely set of Primark Neon’s that need an outing!

*A new bit here, check back Tuesday, because I am going to blog about the final of Broadchurch, which was highly discussed in my staff room the other day. I do have a theory, but I won’t let you know till afterwards (I will not cheat, I swear) but I still think the Vicar is a bit shifty! PS anyone else find it hilarious that the Vicar and David Tennent where both in Doctor Who at different times? (silence) no, just me then!

Food Based Epiphany!

Two in one day lol! Aka forgot to mention this in the last one.

On Friday, I had what is now called a Food Based Epiphany! For years, I was under the illusion that for some strange reason, without I believe tasting it, that I would hate mayo! Considering the fact I love pretty much any form of egg, I don’t really know why I took a dislike to mayo. I think it reminds me of milk or cream, which I hate. Actually, I use to drink milk all the time, until I had my tonsils out (like factoid for you there!) and I lost the taste for it. BACK ON TRACK!

Anyway, as it’s buy your lunch¬†Thursday, and I was a day late, I went to Marks and Sparks to get me lunch. Pretty much every sandwich has mayo on, but the least yucky looking, and because I love love love Tuna, was the Tuna mayo.¬†Actually¬† I went off Tuna for a little bit, because I kept feeling sick after eating it, but now I love (Note to mind: STAY ON TRACK!).

So I bought it and I ate it and I LOVED IT!!!! I think all these years I have been¬†depriving¬†myself of mayo and I didn’t know what I was missing. It doesn’t mean I’mm gonna go out and buy a big tub of Helmans (Other brand are¬†available), but you know, I might be more open in my choice of sandwich!

TV Show Of The Day: Nashville!
Nail Varnish Of The Day: Deep Blue Sea, by Sally Hansen.

I liked being surprised!

So, I just go back from the cinema – and I am pleasantly¬†surprised! I went to see The Croods, and judging by a review I read, I wasn’t going in expecting much. However, having seen it, god were they wrong. It was such a lovely film, with a great journey kind of story and really great characters. So it shows you, you can be¬†pleasantly¬†surprised. EDIT Forgot to add this and it might be creepy, but how does Ryan Reynolds manage to be cute in an animation if that is even possible! Is that creepy!

Again, I was¬†surprised¬†today, when I thought I got overcharged in a store, to find out, they had actually undercharged me. And well I am a respectable¬†citizen, there ain’t no way that I’m gonna go back and tell them that. I’ll just send them good mental thoughts.

It’s safe to say though, some things never¬†surprise¬†me.

The first one being I have had to auto correct every time I wrote the word¬†surprised, cause I can;’t bloody remember to put the first r in it!

The second one being the weather. It is fecking freezing to say the least! So much so, I had to put the top bar lock on the door on to stop it banging!

The third one is my neighbours. Neighbours totally got there theme tune wrong! It should be Neighbours are just like family – you can’t choose them and your bloody well stuck with them till either party decides to leave! It just ridiculous really. There is not one weekend that goes by that they don’t think it is there god given right to play music so loud that I could tell you track for track what it is (usually coldplay followed by meatloaf!). I wouldn’t mind so much if I like them, but its crap songs (mostly the meatloaf ones!). I know the lyrics now, I’ve heard them that many times. and it goes on till well past midnight. I should report them, but it won’t do any good and I’m too much of a decent human being (please disregard the early undercharging comment!) to report them. But I swear to God, they are just bloody rude ignorant people. What happen to manners?

On that note, I am going to stop, because I’m growing grey hair from my sudden increase in age!

xoxo

Thought Of The Day: I cannot wait till New Girl is back on Tuesday!
Nail Varnish Of The Day: Please and sorry, cause I’m currently picking off some Sally Hansen nail wraps, as I¬†tragically¬†lost half my thumb in New Look (the nail wrap I mean, not an¬†actual¬†thumb! Otherwise this post would be titled, my missing digit!).
