Just popping in…

So, this really isn’t going to be too much of an interesting post, as I haven’t really been up to much lately lol! Yes, I am boring.

Woke up to the sad news this morning that Merlin is ending. You probably thought I was going to say someone has died lol But seriously, I get into TV shows and if I had known earlier that this was ending this season, I would have sat and savored it a bit more. But I am defiantly on the side of Arthur finding out that Merlin is magical! I would have preferred the season to end with him finding out and then a 6th one with the aftermath of it, but there is talk of a possible movie, so still hope and plus, it doesn’t really end.

Speaking of TV shows, I have really been getting into I’m A Celebrity this year, I think they really have some great people in it. I used to watch this all the time, but then I think I gave up around season 5, but with the demise of Downton, I had nothing to watched and no matter how much I try, my Dad will not give in to my Dragon’s Den addiction (I don’t get why I love it!). I loved it on Saturday when Ashley screamed blue murder as part of her meddling task. Not as much as my Dad laughed when I, well, let me explain. I have a maths degree, so my mind often thinks mathematically. So, when it said X3 next to the BMW you could win in the competition, naturally I said, Why would anyone want 3 BMWS. Please stop laughing! Anyhoo, I don’t know who is going to win, but I kind of have a little, fixation if it’s the word, on Hugo lol! I find him endearing, is it just me? Enough to make me wanna go back on 4OD and watch the past 3 seasons of Made In Chelsea! Am I insane???

I am now freshly Shawn, as I went to the hairdressers on Saturday. Nearly came back minus an eye as the scissors stuck me just above my eyebrow, but in the hairdressers defense, I think I slightly moved when she was cutting my fringe. But I survived but I feel like I’m missing a limb as I had about half the length cut off my hair, cause it was really long.

In my randomness, I went Christmas Late Night Shopping this week and saw a Reindeer, which naturally living ina a city so small it’s almost a town, isn’t a day to day occurance. At first, I thought it might have been a well placed head dress on a Donkey, but it was in face a Reindeer. Evidence:

Anyway, the shopping it self, was a failure, in the fact that I bought one Christmas present and spent £70 on new clothes for myself!

And finally, yesterday I finally got to sit down and watch John Carter (aka From Mars, not ER!). After hearing about the fact it lost a butt load of money for Disney, you kinda prepare yourself for nothing much, but I always found the concept of it quite good. Anyway, I really truthfully enjoyed it. There is a story in there, I just think it had a lot to tell and get across to a lot of people who didn’t know the story, unlike say Harry Potter. But in all fairness, I sat there and got really into it. I don’t know why people didn’t go see it! It didn’t have the same (pardon my french!) shitiness that Prince Of Persia has, although I will admit it’s a bit of a guilty pleasure. While I don’t think there will be a sequel, I hope they might reconsider.

And that’s my week!

Thought Of The Day: I own far too many calculators for one person, including one that cost £60!
Nail Varnish Of The Day: A haul from the Lena White Nicole by OPI sale – Kendall On The Katwalk. I funnily enough went round half the day with only nine nails painted as one had a plaster on that I took off.

Beauty Haul September

So, here is my promised Beauty Haul, I do apologies in advance for the state of one of the pictures. I suffer from shaky camera syndrome, I have a real inability to keep a camera straight and focused!

Anywhoo, let’s start with the polishes. These are actually what I have purchased in the last week, I usually spread it out across the month. First off, the Revlon Nail Enamel in 441 Radiant. I actually picked this up for two reasons. I had spotted it in an advert in Company magazine and I really liked the shade. Also, my favourite ever nail polish is Gone Gonzo by OPI and it’s not easy to pick up now, being limited edition, I would think. This is not only cheaper, only .3ml smaller, but it is near on a dupe and hopefully be more readily available. I would say the only real difference is little green glitters as well as silver, but I’m so glad I picked it up. Next are a trio of Models Own. I really love this brand and these new ones I picked up are lovely. Blooboo, is a pale blue colour. This is very similar to Barry M Blue Moon, just a bit darker. But I have a load of trouble with the Barry M one and this seems a lovely formula. Boogie Nights, is from the New Mirrorball collection. You can pick up all 5 and a base/top coat for £20, but I don’t think I’ll use them readily, so I went with purple (obviously). I got the impression from the add that these might have a great coverage, which would have been amazing. I would say they are more a special topper, but there is a nice selection of glitter and not heavy on the clear varnish. Finally, Thunder and Lightening, is shade I just happen to spot, but I’m glad I got it. It’s almost jelly in consistency and won’t cover fully in three, but I think it’s so cosmic and would look amazing in one coat over black. I’m so glad I picked it.

Next up are some eyeshadows. I would estimate that over 75% of the eyeshadows I own are brown, it is just my favourite tone. I picked up the MUA Heaven and Earth Palette, having heard about it on so many blogs. It’s suppose to be their equivalent of the Naked palette and it has some truely lovely colours in and not a bad quality applicator. I wish the shadows had names, but never mind. I also picked up a Natural Collection Eyeshadow Duo in Mocha/Latte. I like the smoky eye look, but a lot of my shadows are very metallic based, so I wanted something a bit more flat. These compliment each other beautifully and easy to pick it up in a rush to get ready for work.

Finally, I have wanted a brown liner for a while, as my black one is too intense for work. I first picked up Miss Sporty Kohl Kajai Eye Pencil in 018 Savage. I wasn’t too impressed with this, as the pay off on the water line was minimal, especially when your eyes start to water, but even without that, the colour payoff was poor. I had that with another Miss Sporty liner too. but I have found this looks nice lining the lid and eyelash line on my lower lid, then blending it. So at least it gets some use. I then picked up the Models Own Kohl Eyeliner Pencil in Chestnut. I’d not heard much on their make-up until I got a free black liner, when I bought my first nail polish from their site. It is now my go too as the colour payoff is great and it has a great smudging end and pencil sharpener. The chestnut one is just as good and I can actually tell I’m wearing it, unlike the Miss Sporty one, but it’s not too harsh for work. Finally, this was a repurchase, I got the Miss Sport Fabulous Lash Mascara in Black. I has gone through at least 4 of these, it is just the most perfect mascara. I couldn’t recommend it more.

That’s it, hope you enjoyed the post! I’m now spent (up!).

Just a quick one…

… to show you final swatches of all my nail polish. I picked up some false nails on ebay dirt cheap:

As you can see, I actually have a lot – well a lot more than I thought lol! These hold twelve nails each and I’m 6 shy of filling ten. You do the maths, it’s over 100. Some of these I have had for Donkey’s and some are sets, but still. I have a heck of a lot of purples and surprisingly, orange and yellow. Anyhoo – that’s how I keep myself busy although I think I’m slightly light headed off the fumes from the varnish and the hairspray I used to make them shiny lol!

Sally Hansen Nail Effects Review

I don’t often rave about a product, but yesterday, as I mentioned, I managed to score some Sally Hansen nail effects. I don’t think you can really get them in the UK, so I was quite pleased to get some. The pattern’s were from the Halloween collection, but they are still very wearable in everyday.

Having tried nails wraps before, I was a tiny bit sceptical, because I didn’t really like them, but the Sally Hansen ones, well, their in a league of their own really. One word … Amazing!

They come in a little box which is cute and you get 16 different sized strips. I like that they were separated into two because then you could use the same size stripes on each hand and not get them all confused. You also got a 3 part nail file and an orange stick. The prep instructions were really easy to follow, except when they use the word nail colour remover. Nothing personal, just prefer nail polish remover, something like that, just makes it sound like a branded product. The prep doesn’t take long at all.

I found the strips really easy to manage. They come separate, with a protective cover. They are double ended, with each end being a different shape, to suit your nail shape. This was really great, as some of my nail beds curve more than the others. They are very malleable, which means you can easy stretch them to fit the shape of your nail. I found I didn’t have to stretch them too much, which was good. What I also liked was your filed away the excess, whereas with nail wraps, I had to cut it because if I filed it, it came away from the nail. I really only went wrong once, when I got an air bubble in it. You never really have to do any shaping round the nail edge either.

I think what I like most if the fact that it feels like real nail polish, not a sticker. The wraps I used before where quite dense and felt and shined like a sticker, whereas these are so much thinner and have a nice shine, but not overly. They say that they last up to 10 days. I’ve had mine on for not 24 hours yet and they are still looking good. But I’ll update you on that!

I would highly recommend these to anyone if you can get them. I only paid £3.99 and while I can’t do a full hand again, I could use them for accent nails. Here are mine via Instagram:

Movie Cull!

As you have no doubt gathered by now, I do love my films! It has therefore come to a point, where my recordable TV box is now 75% full of movies and I have to deal with the possibility that I may need to cull some of the films on it. I have sadly already deleted “Alvin and The Chipmunks” (please indulge me! I loved the cartoon as a kid and was extremely fluey (!!!) when I decided to tape and watch it and proceeded in my delirium to laugh my head off at it!). Some of the films on there I know I will most likely end up buying on DVD (why oh why does my local HMV never seem to have “The Incredible Hulk” in but they do have “Hulk” – and where would it be, under T, I or H!!!) and some I am unsure if I can get on DVD, because they are either really little movies or made for TV.

I have a big issue with throwing things away (I’m not a hoarder! I just think I might need it!) so culling the movies on the box will be hard. I may write a list on here and get some help! Over half I would say I haven’t yet actually watched – so in two weeks time, come 6 weeks holidays, I know my plans! I do have the alternative of actually getting the movies off the box and burning them to disc, as my box has an exportation feature BUT it takes nearly an hour to burn a dvd anyway and if I got a portable hard drive, I’d basically just be moving things from one place to another – which by the way is my general form of tidying up!

Thinking about this post now, it makes me sound like this is all I have to worry! I really do have issues!

Song Of The Day: fun. – We Are Young (I can so see this being played on a party or reunion scene in a movie!)
Nail Varnish Of The Day: My new bundle monster plates are fab, I can even post a picture, cause I stuck it on my instagram (delta8866)!

The blue turquoise is a fab bargin find (£2) and is Sally Hansen Insta-Dry Fast Dry Nail Colour in 430 Brisk Blue while the silver is BarryM Instant Nail Effects in 319 Foil!

Wimbledon Finale!!!

I was going to add a nice little image to the top of this post, like I have with my other posts, but due to a sport injury on my left arm, it hurts to much to be fancy with photoshop. Well, I say sport injury, but unless you count extreme shopping a sport, then you might want to score out the sport part of the injury. I banged right into one of the columns in the middle of New Look yesterday! It hurt!

I got some lovely things yesterday on my shopping trip with Helen. I wanted to post some pictures, BUT New Look Online doesn’t have the dress I bought and I don’t think Internacionale has an online shop. I got two tops and some boots in there. I think I’ll take a picture of the dress and post it, as it’s beyond wicked!

Anywhoo, back to the actual title of the post. I can’t believe the Wimbledon final is here already. I think it’s going to be a really great one this year. I’ll be cheering on both players, as I think they are both really great at Tennis, and as much as I would love Andy Murray to win, if Federer did, I wouldn’t be upset either. I just hope that it doesn’t go on for too long cause sometimes, if there pretty even match, it can get relentless.

I think I should re title this post as hardly any of it is about Wimbledon lol.

Song Of The Day: No song today! Not really had music on yet!
Nail Varnish Of The Day: Nothing either! But my new Bundle Monster stamping plates arrived on Friday so I will experiment this afternoon!

Rain Rain, GO AWAY!

I have this idea, that I think it’s cool to sit and look out of a window while there is rain running down it. Granted, this is highly unlikely, as the last time I tried to sit on a window sill, I knocked the radiator off the wall true story).

However, as lovely a fantasy as that is, in reality, the amount of rain that is currently falling in England is immense. Whoever ticked off God needs to be found! I could take it if it was all day, but it just appears at random times. And now, it’s starting to get really muggy as well, so not only is it raining but it’s warm and that’s a right pain, cause you can’t out your hood up, cause it makes your head too hot!

Anyway, luckily I could live out my fantasy today and watch it from inside. Boo-yeah!

I did manage to get my layouts done today and I’m now working on my article!

PS. As I was typing I nearly crapped myself at the almighty sound of thunder and lightening!

Song Of The Day: Avril Lavinge – “Keep Holding On” (I am listening to this because I finally managed to sit through the entirety of the movie “Eragon” the other week and I was not disappointed in that it wasn’t good like I thought it would be. The only bit which was good was the bit that Garrett Hedlund was in! I was never planning to watch it again after my first attempt, but then I found out he was in it, so I had too! Good song though, too good for the film}
Nail Varnish Of The Day: I think I have four different ones on at the moment. On the thumb it Nicole By OPI Me + Blue and on two fingers I have Nicole by OPI Somebody Teal Love (I hate Justin Bieber but the nail varnish collection is good!) and then one two other fingers I have NYC Empire State Blue and all have a top coat of this Technic Blue Glitter, which is down stairs so I don’t have the name – possibly Mermaid!

ELF Nail Polish Offer

ELF Make Up (, currently have an offer on all their nail products. I’m a huge fan of ELF because it’s so affordable but actually amazing quality, especially their nail polish, I do own a fair few of these. I think their best products are their Matte Finisher Polish and their glitter’s in Golden Goddess and Twinkle. I don’t think I’ll be taking advantage of the offer this time (£1.25 only!!!!), because I am currently trying to get the Spider-Man Opi Collection polishes. But at £2.50 normally (I think they use to be £1.50), that ain’t bad! Check their site for more info on the offer.
