The Annual Christmas Cold

I don’t think there is ever a December that goes by that I don’t get sick. Last year I had the mother of all colds, which meant I had to have a week off work, which is something I never do. I have the odd day, but never a whole week in a row, I think the most I’ve had off is two days. I am currently in the throws of another Christmas Cold but this one, touch wood, is not as bad and I can still go to work, even though it wasn’t great today working with a cold. But nevertheless, it would not be Christmas without one (though one year, I would like to see December clear and not delirious in cold!).

Christmas is fast coming round and while I thought I was pretty much prepared, I’m in fact not! You may notice the rather lovely pile of parcels in the twitter pic to the left and while I’d like to say they are all Christmas presents, only one is! The bloody problem with Christmas shopping is that you tend to browse and while you browse, you see so much bloody stuff you like, you end up spending more on yourself (at least I do!). I’m not too bad and think I have most of the stuff mentally bought just not physically. In theory, this means they are still in the shop and waiting for me, my name on them. I very much doubt that in reality!

I planned to watch some Christmas movies this weekend, but in fact, I watched 4 movies and non were Christmas related. As I was pretty much sofa bound on Saturday, I watched my cheer me up movie, which is Tangled! I could watch this movie so many times and never get sick of it! I just love the song “I See The Light”, it is one of my all time favourite Disney songs. Then after that, I watched my main man Thor – btw, I think The Dark World is so much better than the first, but if Thor is happening to be listening (he is currently sat opposite me in Lego form anyway), like children, I love them both equally. Then I also watched The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, which gave me everything I could have wanted from a British movie – perfect.

On to last night and as soon as I saw this was on, I knew I just had to watch it. We all have our guilty pleasure movies that while might not have got the best reviews or might not be “Oscar” worthy as it were, you just can’t help but love and watch. And one of my all time favourites that I have watched since I was a kid, is The Brady Bunch Movie. I love that fact that as an adult, while I still remember loads of it, there were some bits that I understand now and realise how rude in fact they are. I love films like that, that children can watch, but adults can totally get an in joke from. I have a copy of it on VHS (that’s a video btw), but I looked it up on DVD and bloody hell is is expensive, because your can’t really get hold of it and I’m not being funny, but who wouldn’t want it on DVD. I am going to go and look in a replay shop tomorrow. And can I just say, I never truly appreciate how much Greg Brady is actually very good looking!!! As a child, I obviously didn’t appreciate that!

Music Of The Day: Kelly Clarkson “Just For Now” – a great alternative kind of xmas song.

The Ultimate Cross Over

There is a good chance that I am currently under some sort of delirium from becoming a bit of a Hermit and watching way too many episodes of Doctor Who, but I had the idea for the best crossover ever. This also may be due to the fact that I am currently on a Thor high (not a drug, the movie!) after having seen the trailer for the 2 film yesterday.

How about a Thor and Doctor Who crossover!!!! Technically, this could actually happen, because as we know Asgard is a part of the Universe and the lovely lovely Thor lives on Asgard (I think!), and correct me if I’m wrong, but after watching what feels like a gazillion episodes of Doctor Who, I do believe Asgard got a name check. And yes, you are all so right in the fact that I must have far too much time on my hands to be able to think of all this. I really do, it’s quite sad frankly!

But ladies and gentlemen, a very sad event did indeed happen today – I finished the final of the seasons of Doctor Who I had ūüė¶ I had forgotten how good the end of Season 4 was with all the cross overs and what not, but yes, it’s official, I now have nothing to watch (disregarding entirely the 9 pages of movies and all those episodes of 90210 plus whatever the hell else I’ve recorded – I think I should lose the batteries!). I have two leads (get me – like a spy!) on ebay for the specials that follow from David Tennant to Matt Smith, so let’s hope I win. but if not – I’m ready to discover, what news shows should I watch or which shows should I rewatch?

However, I really think I need to get back in to some of the other things I should do instead – the story certainly isn’t going to write itself, plus the other bits I need to do.

DIY Of The Day: a) I removed the clamp from my curler at last but b) lost part of it in the process but hopefully should work.
Nails Of The Day: I actually did my nails today!! I have on my all time favourite black A England Camelot and Model’s Own Thunder and Lightening, with some nice little decals.

Revelation, Movies and Rudeness (all in one post!)

I could really bore you to death in a few separate posts, but I thought it would be nicer of me to bore you to death all in one long slog – I’m just that nice.

The other day I changed the wallpaper on my phone. I like to us movie posters as the background on my phone, and for a while I had the Star Trek Into Darkness poster as my wallpaper. And for months, I was under the illusion that the guy in the poster was Kirk, but it is actually in fact Benedict Cumberbatch’s character. I’ll find a link to the poster, but to be honest, it is wee, so it’s hard to tell who it is. Poster. Ok, so it’s not that small on a laptop screen, but on a phone screen it is and my eyesight is terrible. So the other day I changed it to the new Thor Poster. Do not get me started on the US date on the post, cause I got all excited that it might be out around my birthday, until I realised the 11 was the month, not 8. Anywhoo, as I added the wallpaper to my phone, it dawned on me. I have an over excited thing for Thor, especially his lovely lovely golden hair, which I have mentioned several times, in some rather creepy as I type this sounding posts. But as I added this wallpaper, I realised to myself that I din’t have a thing for Chris Hemsworth, lovely as he is, I have a thing for Thor! And ain’t that just said, so here it is – I want to marry Thor! The actual God of Thunder and not the actor that plays him. I am insane!

Anyway, movies. Yesterday I watched one and a bit of a movie, because I got slightly bored of the second one and was trying to do something else while I was watching it, so I wasn’t really concentrating that much. The first one I watched, which I loved and again, didn’t expect to, was Blue Valentine. The second one was Inside Man, which I gotta be honest, I watched about 30 minutes of it and I didn’t really like what I saw, but I’m hoping that it was due to my lack of concentration, rather than the movie. I think it will be a grower, cause I’ve watched films where the beginning is really rubbish, but then the end is like woah! Or maybe I’m becoming a film snob, cause to be honest, you use to be able to stick anything on and I’d probably watch it. Actually, that’s still true!

Onto the rudeness part of the title. I have the unfortunate annoyance of being in a detached house, so I have neighbours very very close to me on each side. And this week, the ones that I mostly complain about on here, decided that it was ok to flick all their fag butts into our back yard. I don’t care whether you know people or not, but when was it OK to do that? I fortunately do not have the disgusting habit that is smoking, but seriously, where did common decency go in the youth of today. That makes me sound really old, considering I’m basically about 5 years older than them and not long ago, I was the youth of today. But luckily, I have the sense of decency not to do things like this. Anyway, rant over, it ain’t your problem.

As for today’s movie(s). I really want to watch the 3rd Transformers movie, because as I mentioned earlier this week, my brain is trying to make room and I do not remember much of that film, apart from the spiral crushing robot thing and Patrick Dempsey being in it lol. But, as well as the many movies that I mentioned on my box, fricking Tinker Tailor Solider Spy has been staring at me from my DVD shelf for a long time now, so I might have to actually watch it. I really want to watch it, so not wanting to sin’t the problem, I just get easily distracted by other movies. I have several books with bookmarks in at the moment, so that should really say everything.

Anyway, good day to you all, enjoy it!

Food Of The Day: Asda’s ice lollies with the popping candy in!
Nails¬†Of The Day: Non, but I think I’m actually going to do some nail art today, cause I’m getting lazy!

Aftermath of Broadchurch (VERY BIG MASSIVE SPOILER ALERT)

Very angry way to start, I do¬†apologies. I would also like to thank anyone who read my last post, which was very, shall we say personal (if that word is in my¬†vocabulary¬†, it really helped me to vent, although now I worry less, today I had to worry more, after someone decided to set up a¬†Facebook¬†account with my email address! You are so hilarious it’s not even funny!

Anywhoo, last nights Broadchurch. Before we even discuss it, I need to get this off my chest and fully gloat to the high heavens, I GOT IT RIGHT!!!! I think I was highly¬†irritating¬†last night after the reveal, so I apologies greatly to my family (and I truly don’t care or mean it lol!). I seem to be able to guess programs pretty well, I don’t know if I am slightly judging myself on that part for watching too much TV, but it’s a gift. I am TV¬†psychic. That’s going on the resume.

So, the copper’s husband did it. I had my thoughts on him for a while, but it was even more confirmed last week, when Pauline Quirke’s character thought it was her son and I thought her son also looks very similar to the copper’s husband. In our staffroom, we thought his son might have done it and he covered it up for him. But no, it was actually him, although some are speculating he could still be covering, but I don’t know.

I thought for a moment that there was going to be a last minute twist, because the killer was revealed really quickly on, so I thought it would be too early for the real killer to be made known. It was really good to finally known after all this time who it was, but I don’t fully think they really went into why he did what he did and all that, it was just he did it and this is why. I must admit, that even though I had thought it was him, I still had a last minute punt on the shifty Vicar. I don’t really know why I thought he was shifty, I think it’s because he is the character you least expect because of the nature of the job to be good. But I’m glad we finally know, and I am looking forward to a second series, although I don’t really know how it will play out. Some say it might be that they look at David Tennant’s¬†Scottish¬†case, but¬†obviously¬† we will know all about what happened, so there won’t be any¬†surprises¬† But really, we only know what was said and his side of the story, we don’t know which is true.

Anyway, apart from the rotten start to my day, it then turned out to be epic, because the Thor trailer was released!!!!! Our the golden God, his hair is longer, I don’t like that (or do I, I can’t decide). I swear I do not have a hair fetish!!!

Song Of The Day: You are too fully aware of my trailer love today, so it’s a song instead – Nina Nesbitt’s Statues
Nail Varnish Of The Day: It was Sally Hansen Chartreuse Chase (nicer than I thought) but I took it off.
